Tackling Key Challenges Faced by Multi-Product Last Mile Distribution Businesses
This workshop type session will be facilitated by Practical Action and involve participants working together to identify and dissect best practices (and worst mistakes!) – with a focus on strategies for recruiting, training, and incentivizing sales agent networks. The session will involve knowledge exchange, which we hope will stimulate ideas for greater collaboration between participants. We expect participants to come away with knowledge of what is and is not working in various markets, and new ideas/approaches to more effectively develop and manage sales agent networks as they seek to sell to BOP consumers. The session will also include a discussion of the planned Global Distributors Collective (GDC), an initiative led by Practical Action and a team of leading last mile distributors and supported by the Alliance. The GDC aims to bring together multi-product last mile distribution companies around the world to share knowledge and facilitate partnerships, as well as to be a source for centralised business services and growth capital for distributors.
