Biography
Rachel Mahmud is the Program Manager, Gender at the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves. She is responsible for supporting the design and management of the Alliance’s gender programming, including the Women’s Empowerment Fund. She provides technical and programmatic support to grantees and supports gender mainstreaming throughout Alliance programs. Previously, she worked at ACDI/VOCA as a project coordinator for enterprise development programs in Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Burkina Faso, and Sri Lanka. She served as the coordinator for the gender community of practice, and supported the development and roll-out of a gender mainstreaming training program. She has traveled throughout East and West Africa to provide technical assistance on value chain analysis, training delivery, grant management, and project start-up and close-out. Rachel holds a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University, and she speaks French and English.
